Located in New York’s Nolita district, “The French Cheese Board” is a concept store that aims to educate and inform the public about the fascinating world of French cheese. In addition to being a retail space, the boutique also serves as an event space and art gallery where guests can merge their appreciation for both food and art in a truly interdisciplinary way. Tastings, pairings, and cooking demonstrations are just a few of the ways in which the store achieves its goal of promoting French cheese overseas. Moreover, the décor, designed by French duo Ich&Kar, upholds the shop’s commitment to cheese education. Featuring a map of French cheeses, diagrams explaining how certain cheeses are produced, and informative graphics showing how best to slice cheese based on shape, “The French Cheese Board” pays homage to the extensive efforts of French cheese mongers over the centuries.
The next event to be held at the store will be “Bleu Blanc Brunch,” which will feature a cross-cultural cooking and tasting demonstration with recipe blogger Alexandra Shytsman of The New Baguette. For more information about the store’s concept and events, visit http://www.frenchcheeseboard.com.
